🇮🇪 Important Update: The RSA Is Assessing an Ireland–Ukraine Driving Licence Exchange Agreement

We have received an official response from the Road Safety Authority (RSA).

We are pleased to share an important development in our campaign.

Elizabeth Maloney from Driver Licensing at the Road Safety Authority (RSA) has confirmed that the RSA is currently engaging with the Ukrainian driving licence authorities to consider a driving licence exchange agreement between Ireland and Ukraine.

The RSA has confirmed that it will assess whether Ukraine’s licensing and testing system is wholly or partially comparable to the system in Ireland and the requirements of the EU Driving Licence Directive.

Following this assessment, the RSA will make a recommendation to the Department of Transport, which is responsible for the relevant legislation.

This is an important step forward. It means that the issue raised by this petition is now being considered as part of an official assessment process.

Our petition has now reached 3,970 verified signatures from people supporting a long-term solution for Ukrainian driving licence holders in Ireland.
