Hello,

When we last wrote, we had just surpassed 500 signatures on the petition to the Historic Sites and Monuments Board of Canada (HSMBC). We also shared an update on the revision and resubmission of the Submission Report to HSMBC staff. Receipt of the revised report has been acknowledged; however, we have only been advised that it may be reviewed. No information has been provided regarding next steps, anticipated timelines, or the overall process, and as a result, we remain without clear direction.

The petition remains active, and we continue to pursue additional outreach to expand support. We are pleased to report that we are approaching 600 signatures, with representation from every province and territory.

In parallel, we have written to the HSMBC executive as well as to the Honourable Julie Dabrusin, the Minister responsible for oversight of the HSMBC. We felt it was important to ensure they are aware of recent developments, including the original Submission Report, its significant deficiencies, and our collective efforts to revise it. We also wanted to ensure they are aware that written endorsements—key supporting materials absent from the original submission—have now been prepared and formally submitted.

Ron Foss,

Executive Director, Fossmobile Enterprises
