As a Jewish woman, seeing photos of actor Hudson Williams with a swastika drawn on his face emerge was not only disgustingly anti-Semitic, but deeply disappointing, as the actor never bothered to release an apology for his actions. A shared Instagram account of Williams and a friend featured an anti-Black and anti-Asian slur in the name, along with photos of Williams in a braids wig, countless examples of Williams misusing AAVE, Cultural appropriation against the Black community, and clips of Williams mocking the act of bottoming and other Queer adjacent behaviors exhibits extreme insensitivity and a lack of respect towards various marginalized groups. His actions are not isolated incidents but part of a series of distressing behaviors that undermine the inclusiveness and respect that our society continues to fight for. 

There is a clear pattern of deeply concerning behavior and remarks. The fact that Williams has not released any statements condemning his past actions gives way to believe he either doesn't care, or does not want to admit his mistakes. We cannot allow this behavior to continue in this day and age. No one deserves to see themselves or the marginalized group they belong to being mocked. 

The character of Shane Hollander in Heated Rivalry is loved by many, and it's paramount that the person portraying him embodies the values of respect, equality, and inclusion. Allowing Hudson Williams to continue in this role sends the wrong message to the audience, especially to those directly impacted by his prejudiced actions. Hudson Williams does not represent what Heated Rivalry stands for. 

A television series should be a reflection of the diverse and equitable world we aspire to live in. Ensuring that cast members in prominent roles uphold and reflect these values is a critical step in promoting change and demonstrating an unwavering stance against racism, anti-Semitism, and all forms of discrimination.
