MCU fans have been aching for more structure and cohesiveness as of late, and the rumors about Kang's replacement with Doctor Doom would only add onto this already growing issue. Though Jonathan Majors has been found guilty, I feel that simply recasting the role would be better than replacing him. Kang has the potential to be even more compelling than Thanos (no disrespect to Josh Brolin), and abruptly ending the journey now would be the biggest letdown since the DC Extended Universe's reboot.

If the role is recast, not only will it likely mean the end of one of the most ambitious stories in superhero fiction, but it will set a dangerous precedent. Should Kang be recast, then superhero film will become less bold to address  issues pertaining to problematic industry figures. What's next? Ezra Miller owns the Flash, so now no one can play the role but him?

Though the MCU has been slowing down as of late, this recent string of news will cause it to lose the momentum it's been gaining since the release schedule became more spread out. Kang must be recast, and the story must be concluded with satisfaction for the fans.

2023 was the year that superhero movies (minus a few) disappointed me more than ever before. I have loved the MCU since I began watching it with my parents and brother in 2018, and have looked forward to the climactic battle between the Avengers and Kang for over three years. If the role is not recast and the character is cast aside, then it would only add onto my disappointment and disillusionment with the genre. Please, help me get the role recast and the story back on track.
