The majority of Ohioans have decided in a legal voting process to allow recreational marijuana usage, possession, and home cultivation. Issue 2 has specific framework language and Ohioans voted YES on the issue on November 7, 2023. Since that day members of the GOP in Ohio have repeatedly threatened to alter the verbiage of the issue to be a mere shadow of itself, such as allowing municipalities to ban home cultivation but use of the substance altogether. This is clearly a response to the passing of Issue 1 which saw Ohioans enshrine protection of personal medical and reproductive decisions into the state constitution. Republicans in Ohio like Dewine, Huffman, Click, and others have clearly demonstrated their willingness to subvert the will of Ohioans when they don’t get what they want, much like petulant little children. Sign this petition, call your representatives, and tell them the people have spoken! Municipalities should not be able to decide which statewide freedoms to allow and which they’d like to infringe upon, especially when the people of Ohio have so loudly spoken on what we want.

Ohioans, if we don’t act now we will leave an open door through which subversive behavior from the GOP will become even more commonplace than it already is. We have spoken, and it’s time for them to give us what we asked for or vacate their offices.
