I understand a public meeting will be taking place tomorrow (Wednesday 16th August) at Himley Hall at 6pm for concerned residents to discuss the current situation. I hope as many of you as possible will attend to convey the strength of feeling about recent events and about the future of the Crooked House.
Staffordshire Police continue to investigate the arson attack that took place on the Crooked House on Saturday 5th August. As far as I am aware they have not officially named any suspects but a number of sources have suggested that the act of demolishing the building while the cause of the fire was still under investigation was in itself a crime (potentially perverting the course of justice). I'm not a legal expert but there also appears to be precedent that in the event of the destruction of evidence it can automatically be assumed in court that said evidence would have been detrimental to the individual(s) responsible for its destruction.
It has also emerged today that the Crooked House is not the first time that a company linked with Carly and Adam Taylor have suffered a major fire. AT Contracting and Plant Hire Ltd are the registered owners of Finmere landfill in Buckinghamshire which in August 2018 also suffered a major blaze in which four hundred tonnes of waste were burned. The cause of that fire could not be established.
