As residents of Reedley, CA, we fondly remember the days when our local skatepark was a bustling hub of activity. It was a place where kids could hone their skills, families could spend quality time together, and community bonds were strengthened. However, over time, the park has lost its charm due to outdated infrastructure and loss of any shade to keep us nice and cool. We believe it's high time for an upgrade.

Our town is home to many passionate skaters who are missing out on opportunities to practice and socialize due to the deteriorating condition of our skatepark. New ramps, rails, and ledges would not only revitalize this space but also provide a safe environment for our youth to thrive in.

Investing in our skatepark is investing in Reedley's future. According to the Tony Hawk Foundation (2019), well-maintained skateparks promote physical health among youth while fostering community spirit. They serve as inclusive spaces that encourage social interaction among diverse groups - benefits that extend beyond just skaters.

We urge local authorities to consider this plea seriously - for the sake of our people who need places like these to grow and learn; for families looking forward to spending quality time together; for friends who want a place where they can meet up and have fun; but most importantly - for keeping alive the spirit of skating in Reedley.

Please sign this petition if you agree that it's high time we rebuild our beloved town skatepark with updated obstacles and amenities!
