Tomorrow is a key opportunity to speak directly with Parks & Rec staff about the future of Malvern Hills Pool. They’ll be gathering feedback in person about the new reduced pool at the West Asheville Tailgate Market:

  When: Tuesday, September 30, 3:30–6:30 p.m.

Asheville deserves better than a smaller, shallower pool. Here are a few questions you can raise:

Why is the pool being shrunk by nearly 28% when Asheville has already lost Recreation Park Pool and shrunk the Grant Center Pool?Why are all public pools losing their deep ends, while every private pool still has one?
Why wasn’t the design option with a full deep end presented for community input?
Will the city share project costs to explain why the deep end was cut?

This is our chance to press for answers and remind the city that shrinking community amenities in a growing city is not acceptable. 

We need strong community voices to show up, speak out, and ask the tough questions.
