Thank you supporters of the Jones Park Playground!!!

At its September 27th session, in a unanimous vote, Asheville City Council authorized City Manager Debra Campbell to enter into an interlocal agreement with Asheville City Schools Board of Education for the city to maintain the playground equipment at Jones Park. The motion to approve the agreement included and addendum asking that the park be renamed after Candace Pickens, a 22 year old woman murdered at the park in May 2016. A final decision on renaming the park will be up to the Asheville City Schools Board.
