Rebuild Betti Stradling Skatepark into a Free, World-Class Skatepark for Coral Springs!

Rebuild Betti Stradling Skatepark into a Free, World-Class Skatepark for Coral Springs!
The Issue
We, the skaters, families, and residents of Coral Springs, Florida, urgently call on the City of Coral Springs to revitalize the Betti Stradling Skatepark by rebuilding it as a free, state-of-the-art concrete skatepark. The current park, once a vibrant hub, has been reduced to a shadow of its former self—most ramps have been torn down and removed, leaving only a few outdated structures.
This is not the skatepark our community deserves. By transforming Betti Stradling Park into a modern, free concrete skatepark, we can restore a vital space that promotes health, creativity, and unity for all of Coral Springs.
Skateboarding is a powerful force for good—it builds confidence, encourages physical fitness, and brings people together. A rebuilt, free concrete skatepark will:
Empower Our Youth: Offer a safe, engaging space for kids to develop skills, stay active, and find purpose, helping combat issues like obesity and disengagement. Skateparks are proven to reduce youth crime by providing positive outlets.
Unite the Community: Create a welcoming hub where skaters, families, and residents of all ages connect, fostering pride and togetherness in Coral Springs. The Justice Skatepark in Hollywood, backed by over 3,000 petition signatures, shows what’s possible when a community rallies together.
Revitalize Local Spirit: Attract visitors, host skate events, and inspire local businesses (like skate shops) to thrive, boosting Coral Springs’ economy and reputation as a vibrant city.
Ensure Lasting Access: A durable concrete park, unlike the current degraded setup, will be low-maintenance and free for all, removing past barriers like the fees once charged at Betti Stradling.
The Betti Stradling Skatepark, once a beloved spot, has lost its vitality with most ramps dismantled, leaving only a few inadequate structures. We envision a modern concrete skatepark—designed by experts like those, who built Hollywood’s Justice Skatepark and Lot11 Skatepark in Miami—that caters to skaters of all skill levels, from beginners to pros, with features like ramps, rails, and bowls.
We propose a partnership between the City of Coral Springs, community advocates, and organizations like The Skatepark Project and Live Like Justice Foundation to make this vision a reality. Funding can come from city budgets, Florida Department of Environmental Protection grants, and community efforts like the “Butter Skate Fest” that supported Justice Skatepark.
Sign this petition to show the City of Coral Springs that we demand a revitalized, free, world-class skatepark at Betti Stradling Park. Let’s rebuild a space that inspires our youth, strengthens our community, and leaves a lasting legacy for Coral Springs. Join us now—your signature can make this happen!
