Reassess Muhammad Yunus's Legacy and Condemn Violence Against Hindus in Bangladesh

The Issue

We are deeply connected with Bangladesh, a place that is known for its rich cultural history and religious diversity. However, today we beg the question - Are these values still held in high regard in the current regime led by Nobel Laureate Dr. Muhammad Yunus?

Dr. Yunus, an icon celebrated for his microfinance initiatives, leads a regime in which the human rights of minority communities appear to be at stake. Under this leadership, over 200 Hindu temples have been subjected to demolition, more than 1,000 homes have faced destruction, and approximately 500 innocent lives have been lost in a wave of targeted violence. Celebrations of Hindu festivals such as Durga Puja and places of worship like ISKCON temples have been recurrent targets of attacks.

We urge the Norwegian Nobel Committee to reconsider the legacy of Dr. Yunus in light of these alarming violations. It is imperitive for us to address the issue at both global and local levels and ensure that minority communities in Bangladesh live without fear.

Please join us in taking a stand against this increasing violence and aggression against Hindus and other minority groups in Bangladesh. Let's strive for an inclusive and secure world, where every individual and community has the right to practice their beliefs. Please, sign this petition.
