Delay the Implementation of the "Clear Cooperation Policy"

The Issue

Company Owners, Brokers and Realtors understand that rules change as the real estate industry adapts to new technology. We also agree that cooperating with one another is best for the customers and clients we serve.

However, significantly changing Realtracs MLS policy in the middle of an economic crisis is not a good idea. Let alone to a policy under which there is so much confusion. NAR guidelines stipulate that local MLSs do not have to adopt the Clear Cooperation Policy until May 1, 2020. We are asking Realtracs and the Realtracs Board to not adopt this policy on April 1 as planned and to push back to May 1, 2020.

Allow us all additional time to fully comprehend the policy and to explore solutions to the inequities created by unintended consequences. Further, we urge Realtracs to host additional Q&As with members as well as a mastermind with all Broker/Owners in Middle Tennessee.

Clear Cooperation appears simple on the face of the policy, but this simple policy change generates a rather large ripple effect that does not service all members fairly.

Please help us push back the adoption of the Clear Cooperation Policy from April 1, 2020 to May 1, 2020 as allowed by the NAR.

Sincerely,
Christie Wilson, Amy Cannon & Grant Hammond
