Re-Open Frankston City Motorcycle Park

Re-Open Frankston City Motorcycle Park
The issue
Dirt bike riders in Frankston and surrounds do not have a safe area to ride - forced to drive hours every weekend to enjoy their hobby.
Since 1980, Frankston City Motorcycle Park has been a club that novice riders, kids and juniors can take their motorcycles to learn how to ride in a controlled environment and keep their motorcycles off the streets.
The decision was made to close the park due to the unfortunate death of a young rider in 2017. Whilst this accident was unfortunate, closing the track is not the best solution for the thousands of people that used the venue to participate in their hobby. There are several safety measures that can offer an alternative to closing the motorcycle park.
Frankston City Motorcycle Park was a great complex for many enthusiasts to ride in a controlled environment. By providing dedicated purpose built facility, this offers a great alternative to riders thinking of riding their unregistered bikes on public land.
By signing this partition, you can show Frankston City Council that this complex was great for the motorcycle community and ensures that the Frankston Council are providing every opportunity for residents and locals to keep their motorcycles off the streets and out of local parks.
The last update from the club's committee states that Frankston Council are currently awaiting a report from the court case which concluded in December 2021. This can take up to 12 months and was meant to be delivered in 2020, however was delayed due to COVID-19. We hope this petition can be used as justification by the Frankston Council to re-open track open once the report is delivered.
