We hope you can join us for a celebration of the RDU Quarry mining permit denial this Saturday, February 26 from 1pm-3pm. Come for congratulations to us all; optional hike. Come meet fellow supporters who helped sustain this six-year effort that led to this huge success!

Bring your yard signs. Wear your "RDU Forest - Don't Take Your Forest for Granite" t-shirts. Wear Green. We'll also be selling Umstead State Park-branded items including hats, fleece and hoodies. 

• 1pm: Meet at 2232 Old Reedy Creek Road, Cary, NC 27513. Park along the road shoulder
• 1-1:30pm: Photos and thank you's! High-fives!
• 1:30-3pm: Optional, moderately difficult hike along the Odd Fellows Tract (the land we've been striving to protect). Expect multiple stops and discussions on this two-mile, educational hike. 

The mining permit denial couldn't have happened without your donations, letters to elected officials, volunteering, advocacy and more. We're grateful to have so many great partners in protecting Umstead State Park and we hope to see you all on Saturday!
