For residents of Bhagalpur and surrounding areas in Bihar, the Anga Express (12253/54) is nothing short of a lifeline. This train, currently operating only once weekly, is the sole direct rail connection to the bustling city of Bangalore in the south. With overwhelming demand and tickets often booked 6 to 7 weeks in advance, the current frequency is woefully inadequate.

Many of us have experienced the hardship of traveling unreserved for over 40 hours to visit home. Whether for family emergencies, festivals, or important events, the journey becomes a struggle due to the lack of available reservations. Imagine having to stand or sit uncomfortably in overcrowded corridors for such a long period – it's not just inconvenient, it’s inhumane.

Statistics speak loudly. The train's booking is consistently full, indicating an undeniable demand for increased frequency. The suffering of passengers akin to mine is shared by thousands who depend on this critical rail service for their travel needs.

Furthermore, the economic and social impact of increasing the service’s frequency could be substantial. Regular service would facilitate smoother travel, enhance economic interactions between these regions, and most importantly, vastly improve the quality of life for regular commuters.

This plea is not just for convenience; it is a call for action to improve essential rail connectivity and bring relief to countless families who rely on the Anga Express. The Eastern and South Western Railways should recognize this demand and the socio-economic benefits, and increase the frequency of the Anga Express to a daily service.
