
The Yaak Valley in northwest Montana is home to an isolated population of approximately 24 grizzly bears. One of which, a female, was poached last fall. They still have not caught the poachers.
The Yaak Valley ancient old growth forest and grizzly bears are threatened by climate change, a national hiking trail, and the Black Ram logging project. The forest service has ignored these concerns and the voice of the indigenous.

These grizzlies need protection and connectivity with the grizzlies in the Yellowstone Ecosystem in order to survive.
