Just listening to the news that the Beaches North and South were closed today because people were not doing the right thing !

I know a lot of swimmers from our Community headed to those areas to  do their exercise today.  I am certainly not suggesting they didn't respect the SD regulations but it does add to the reason why we should try and get this sorted locally, if at all possible.

These beaches do not have a Swim n Go Policy in place - but they may look at one now !

In my proposal to The Council on management was that they always have the power to close the beach on any certain day eg. hot weather/beach conditions.

The Commisioner of Police in Press Conference just now indicated  that Local Councils do have an idea of temperatures in advance and in that case can give the Public several days notice of closure.

I still think this can still work at Randwick Council Beaches but I do believe there needs to be some intense (sadly) education & high visibility signage prior to any opening.

I say, the coastal walks are full because all the swimmers are trying their hand at running! :)
