Hi Everyone,
Big Thankyou for those who have signed in the last 24 hours.
Currently we have just over 2000 signatures !
That is a lot of swimmers that are feeling a little sad at the moment :(
I have been reading through the comments and in addition to the exercise and mental health benefits we are all missing there are people in our Community that need to get into the water for some additional reasons;
Hydrotherapy reasons- recovering from injuries or operations
Have Autistic children where swimming is an essential part of their daily routine
I can't run :)
Dr's and Nurses doing incredible difficult shifts up at The Hospital
People that have spinal injuries - one in particular that is working with an incomplete quadriplegia that needs to get in the ocean as they are allergic to chlorine
and so many of you have said that swimming is just a part of your daily routine and in this time of uncertainty it is important to try and keep the normal routine going if at all possible .
Today,
I sent an email to The Mayor and General Manager of Randwick Council asking them to consider my proposal of Swim and Go.
I attached a copy of this petition of 2000+ and urged them to read your comments.
I also said that I am happy to be involved in the process of trying to find a way to make this happen !
Cheers,
Carolyn
