The Issue

The Rancho Santa Fe Association Board plans to vote soon in favor of the RSF Golf Club's request to rename the Vaquero Lounge in the Player's Club at the RSF Golf Club to the "Men's Locker Room".  This essentially restricts access to all RSF Association (RSFA) females and the majority of RSFA members from use of property owned by all RSFA members who are tenant-in-common owners with equal and undivided interest in all RSFA owned properties. CA Civil Code §51(b) makes it illegal to restrict access to the lounges by members based on sex, race, color, religion, ancestry, national origin, disability, medical condition, genetic information, marital status, sexual orientation, citizenship, primary language or immigration status, etc. Blocking access for its RSFA tenant-in-common owners to use those amenities, that they already own, is a barrier to use that violates the Davis Stirling Act under Ca Civil Code §4500 and Ca Civil Code §1363.

Do not allow the RSF Golf Club to follow the same legally wrong, morally reprehensible and mistaken path that Fairbanks Ranch Country Club took in 2005, when they faced sexual discrimination charges, which curtailed their efforts to block access to a lounge/restaurant to women. Like the Fairbanks Rancho Country Club, which is built on San Diego City owned land, the RSF Golf Player's Club is built on RSFA member-owned property.

I hereby sign my name to object to restricting access to all lounges at the RSFGC Player's Club. The three lounges must remain coed and accessible to all RSFA members.
