Keep the Molok trash bin pilot program in Raleigh NC

Keep the Molok trash bin pilot program in Raleigh NC
The Issue
We encourage the Raleigh City Council to leave the Underground Trash Collection Pilot Program (Moloks) in place AT LEAST until they APPROVE another location near Hargett and Wilmington Streets.
The underground containers are responsible for clearing dozens of smelly trash bins from downtown sidewalks, prevent garbage juice from leaking into storm water drains, cut down on flies and vermin, and save time, money, and other resources for other uses by the city. They are also an excellent example of public art combined with functional use.
The pilot program was announced to last 1 year, and was pulled by city staff with no public input whatsoever with no notice after less than one month of use. City staff estimate it will cost $50,000 - $80,000 to remove and reinstall the Moloks.
