The Issue

Myself, along with many others in our community, suffer from a neurological condition known as Visual Snow Syndrome. This condition is characterized by seeing snow or static, like an old-fashioned television set, in one's field of vision 24/7. It is a rare disorder that affects approximately 2-3% of the population globally (Source: National Institutes of Health).

Despite its prevalence and the significant impact it has on those affected, there remains a lack of awareness and understanding about this condition among both medical professionals and the general public. This lack of knowledge often leads to misdiagnosis and inadequate treatment options for patients.

As a person living with visual snow, I urge you to join me in raising awareness and support for this often misunderstood and overlooked condition. Visual snow is not merely seeing "static" or "fuzziness" in vision; it's a complex neurological disorder that significantly impacts daily life.

Imagine living in a world where your vision is constantly disrupted by flickering dots, flashing lights, and other visual disturbances. This is the reality for thousands of individuals worldwide, yet many people remain unaware of the existence and severity of visual snow.

We need to come together to advocate for more research, better understanding, and improved treatment options for visual snow sufferers. By signing this petition, you're not just showing your support for those affected by visual snow, but you're also standing up for the recognition of all invisible illnesses.

Let's ensure that visual snow is no longer dismissed or minimized. Let's demand better resources, support networks, and medical attention for those struggling with this condition. Together, we can make a difference and bring hope to those living with visual snow. Sign and share this petition today to help raise awareness and support for visual snow sufferers everywhere. Thank you for your support.

Visual Snow isn't just "static" it often comes with many coinciding symptoms such as: Sensitivity to sensory overload, characterized by an excess of sensory input overwhelming the brain and triggering a "flight-or-fight" response, along with manifestations such as anxiety, depression, depersonalization (feeling disconnected from oneself), cognitive fog, confusion, dizziness, nausea, paraesthesia (tingling "pins-and-needles" sensations, often in the limbs), insomnia, and other sleep disturbances, as well as sensory disturbances like "brain zaps" or electric shock sensations, and hypersensitivity to sensory stimuli such as lights and sounds.

Please sign this petition; If you can empathize with individuals grappling with Visual Snow Syndrome, your signature holds the potential to greatly enhance our understanding of this complex condition.
