Raise funding for chronic illness research

The Issue

My grandma has dementia, and it’s heart-wrenching to witness her struggles. She once navigated her days with clarity, but now she moves through life enveloped in a haze of confusion and disorientation. It was a singular, unexpected fall that seemed to trigger this heartbreaking decline, leaving her unaware of the world she once knew so well.

Chronic illnesses like dementia affect millions of families around the globe, stripping loved ones of their memories, identities, and ultimately, their independence. Despite these diseases’ profound impact, medical research in this area remains woefully underfunded. We need to prioritize funding for research into the causes, prevention, and treatment of chronic illnesses, not just for dementia but for a spectrum of conditions that silently deteriorate the quality of life of countless individuals.

Currently, more than 50 million people around the world are living with dementia, and this number is expected to triple by 2050, according to the World Health Organization. With such staggering numbers, the current research funding is not sufficient to keep pace with the urgent need for breakthroughs in treatment and prevention. The lack of adequate government and private sector investment is delaying vital advancements that could improve disease management or lead to potential cures.

Our goal is to rally policymakers, healthcare institutions, private investors, and citizens to advocate for comprehensive funding in medical research dedicated to chronic illnesses. This campaign is not just about improving current conditions but about creating a future where fewer families have to manage the heartbreaking reality of these diseases.

By signing this petition, you will help voice a collective demand for change. Let's work together to create a sustainable and impactful medical research framework. Every signature takes us one step closer to a world where chronic illnesses are better understood, managed, and eventually eradicated.
