In Australia we give out 0.2% of our total income to foreign aid. At one point in time, it was 0.4%. Our goal is to raise it back up to 0.3%. Foreign aid helps people in 3rd world countries by lending them money and allowing them to get necessities. Multiple 3rd world countries suffer from poverty. And as a 1st world country, it is part of our job to help those in need. Each year, 9 million people die from poverty. If things change, we could save over an estimated amount of 3.6 million kids each year. If we don't, with inflation going higher each month, necessities will get harder to acquire and over 100 more million people would be driven into poverty and hunger. Poverty is a giant issue that should've been fixed ages ago. Who deserves to suffer like that? If we don't act now poverty will consume more countries and reach an all time high soon. It's our job to help people who can't help themselves!!
