It’s finally happened – the Education Minister Nadhim Zahawi has heard our demands in person! Because of my nursing degree I couldn’t make it, but I’ve heard all about how it went. Other parents of children with medical conditions were there, and made it really clear to the Minister just how dangerous it is when schools don’t get it right. Different charities representing kids with all sorts of medical conditions (including epilepsy, Type 1 diabetes, cancer, M.E. and heart problems) came too, making sure he understood how many families these problems are hurting. He’s promised to consider the changes we asked for, so now we just have to wait and see what he comes up with. Your signatures definitely got this on his agenda, so thanks everyone for getting us this far! The fight’s not over yet though. I’ll keep you posted on anything else I hear from the Minister. Hopefully, in not too long we’ll have something big to celebrate.
