Well the big day finally arrived.
This Monday I took 1 big box holding 524 sheets of paper, with all 47,214 of your names, to the Department for Education. I hope that when Mr Goodwill sees the names of all those worried parents, he realises what they mean. His government can make changes that could save children’s lives.
Earlier in the day, loads of parents asked their own MP to back our campaign too. Unfortunately I couldn’t make it – I was on mandatory training for my nursing course-- but I was really grateful some of you waited to see my petition hand-in.
The applause as I came out of the Department for Education reminded me how important the support from all of you has been. Thanks!
There’s lots of great pictures of the day if you’d like a look. There’s some on the Diabetes UK’s Facebook page, including a few of me with my petition box:

And ITV News even mentioned us – their report is still online and worth watching.
Thanks for all good wishes in the comments after my last couple of updates too, means a lot to know so many people are still behind the cause, as there’s more work to do.
We still need the Minister and Ofsted to actually make the changes we need. And until that happens I’ll keep fighting, and keep you posted on how you can help. So you’ll be hearing from me again soon!
