Raise Awareness about Waterborne Diseases in Islamabad and Rawalpindi

Raise Awareness about Waterborne Diseases in Islamabad and Rawalpindi
The Issue
I am a resident of Rawalpindi, Pakistan, and the issue of waterborne diseases is personal to me. During a survey conducted in our school, we found that almost every child knew someone affected by these diseases. A significant source of our water supply is the Rawal Dam, which provides 60% of the water in Rawalpindi and Islamabad (Graana), and is contributing to this health crisis.
Waterborne diseases such as typhoid and diarrhea are rampant in our community. The World Health Organization reports that in 2022, at least 1.7 billion people use a drinking water source contaminated with feces. Contaminated water can transmit diseases like diarrhea, cholera, dysentery, typhoid, and polio (WHO).
We need to raise awareness about these preventable illnesses and advocate for clean drinking water sources. By doing so we can reduce the incidence of these diseases and improve overall public health.
It's time for us to take action against this silent but deadly threat lurking in our waters. Please sign this petition to demand increased awareness about waterborne diseases in Islamabad and Rawalpindi.
