Title:

Stop the Extreme Delays of Train 05558 & Provide Two Regular Reserved Trains on LTT–Raxaul Route!

In June 2025, I had booked Train 05558 to reach my village for my grand paternal father's funeral. My family travelled 2 hours to LTT with the hope of reaching on time, but after reaching the platform, we were told the train was delayed by more than 48 hours. We returned home in tears, losing money, time and the last chance to be present for our loved one’s final rituals.

Again in nov 2025 we similar booked the same train to reached on time suddenly shocking news about my mom's grand paternal mother expired, but same issue, same problem, same silly reason from railway authority, same route, hows this even possible. This is not just my story — every year thousands of families face the same pain, missing funerals, medical emergencies, exams and important events because of the repeated mismanagement and extreme delays of this train. The suffering is real, and it keeps happening because no proper action or planning is done by the concerned railway authorities.

I, Jayprakash Mahendra Das, along with thousands of affected passengers, request the Ministry of Railways, Railway Board, Central Railway, and East Central Railway to immediately take action against the repeated and extreme delays of Train No. 05558 LTT–Raxaul Superfast Special, and to introduce at least two regular reserved trains on this highly important route.

Why This Petition Is Important

This train is the lifeline for passengers traveling between Mumbai and Bairgania/Raxaul region, especially families, students, migrant workers, festival travellers, and elderly people. Yet, every year this train suffers from massive delays of 13 to 48 hours, causing:

Mental harassment

Financial loss

Missed travel plans

Unsafe and inhuman travel conditions

Severe inconvenience to thousands of passengers

Our Personal Experience

June 2025 incident:

My family travelled 2 hours by cab to reach Lokmanya Tilak Terminus (LTT). After reaching the platform, we were informed that the train was delayed by more than 48 hours. We had to return home after losing money and time, and the entire journey failed. Later, the train was rescheduled at 1 AM and departed around 3 AM — showing serious operational failure.

November 2025 incident:

For our journey on 27 November 2025, the same train has already been delayed by over 13 hours, repeating the same failure pattern. This is not an isolated case — this happens every festival season, year after year.

The Core Problem

Train 05558 is usually run as an unreserved special and only converted into a reserved train during festival periods.

Even after being marked “Superfast Special,” the train regularly undergoes extreme and unpredictable delays.

There is no regular reserved train on this route despite massive demand.

Our Demands

1. Immediate investigation of repeated delays of Train 05558.

2. Fix accountability on the responsible zones/divisions for this operational failure.

3. Ensure punctual, reliable operations of this train in future.

4. Introduce at least two regular reserved trains (SL/3AC/2AC/1AC) between LTT and Raxaul/Bairgania on the same route to prevent future suffering.

5. Protect passengers from recurring mental, financial and physical hardship.

Why Your Support Matters

Thousands of passengers depend on this route every year for festivals, work, education, medical travel and family visits.

A consistent delay of 13–48 hours is unacceptable in any modern rail system. By signing this petition, you are supporting a long-pending genuine demand for:

Reliable long-distance travel

Safety and dignity of passengers

Accountability from railway authorities

Proper allocation of reserved trains on high-demand routes

We Appeal

To the Railway Minister, Ministry of Railways, Railway Board, Central Railway and East Central Railway to urgently address this recurring issue, take strict corrective action, and provide a sustainable long-term solution.
