FOLKS, for some time we have known that Police use media outlets to help manipulate public perceptions.

Here we have a case where a Senior Detective is alleged to have tipped off Channel 9 and has actually been charged for it by the Crime and Corruption Commission.

It is also alleged that he used the Media Team to 'interview' the alleged offender in an unauthorized manner! 

So, it is "ALLEGED" that this cop 'released' information to the Media Outlet unlawfully, and his lawyer - no doubt paid for by the Police Union, wants the charges dismissed!

This is NOT OK under any circumstances. This is exactly the type of behaviour that should come under scrutiny of a Civilian Oversight Committee. The "Alleged" behaviour does NOT meet community standards.
