ONE RULE FOR 'THEM' QUITE ANOTHER RULE FOR CITIZENS

FOLKS - without a doubt, assaulting a police officer, or indeed any other front line worker such as a doctor or nurse, IS a serious issue.

HOWEVER - and this is a big HOWEVER - where are the protections when a Police Officer assaults a member of the public? 

YES it is a serious issue when a police officer is assaulted in the line of their DUTY, but to highlight the obvious, it should be a MUCH MORE SERIOUS ISSUE WHEN POLICE UNLAWFULLY ASSAULT A MEMBER OF THE PUBLIC.

Just where are the protections for members of the public? It appears that our Government has its priorities going the wrong direction. Yes there should be protections for front line workers, HOWEVER the DUTY of front line workers such as Police should be spelled out.

We can ONLY get the sorts of protections needed folks, with YOUR help. A Civilian Oversight system is desperately required to reflect that COMMUNITY STANDARDS EXPECT MORE FROM OUR POLICE who have a DUTY to protect you, not bash you. After all, the 'good' police should have absolutely nothing to fear from this.
