POLICE AND --- YOUR PRIVACY!

FOLKS, this issue strikes at the heart of YOUR human rights.

Queensland Police were caught out breaching privacy principles by accessing QR data, and while they say they are 'sorry' and won't do it again without a search warrant, the fact is that the damage has already been done.

The good Citizens of Queensland handed their information over to the Government QR Code App, in the belief that it would ONLY be used for the purpose of tracing should they be exposed to the Covid Virus. 

If they had intended for their information to be used for other purposes, then this should have been made very clear BEFORE people signed up to use the App. 

The Right to Privacy is one of the FEW human rights actually legislated for in Australia. This is why we have the various Information Commissions established around Australia. This provides an avenue for Citizens to complain and seek compensation.

This does not excuse however that the Police just went ahead and violated th rights of 350 people, without regard for the LAW! This speaks volumes about how the Queensland Police 'Service' operates.
