PRIVACY HAS BEEN AN ISSUE FOR A LONG TIME - SO WHY IS THE GOVERNMENT NOT TACKLING THE ISSUE?

FOLKS - I know this is a recurring theme, but for good reason.

The Police Commissioner and this Government in Queensland are NOT doing much at all about police breaching the privacy of its civilians in Queensland. I believe this is a universal issue with all Police 'Services' in Australia.

About 90% of police caught out breaching YOUR privacy are let off without any conviction and a simple slap on the wrist, to go about and do it again.

WHY IS THIS IMPORTANT? If you let a cop go for one thing, the likelihood of them going on to commit more serious offences is much higher, and it sends a very clear message to police that it is just OK to breach YOUR rights. If a police officer is willing to breach your privacy rights, how likely is it that they will breach your other rights? What's the next step to this? Setting people up for something they didn't do, perjury, making false statements? These things happen regularly folks.

As a Counsellor, I get to hear the stories of people who have been accused of a range of things by the Police. Disturbingly, there are themes among these people - who don't know each other, and NOBODY CARES WHO SHOULD BE MONITORING THIS STUFF!

Please help us to help you folks. We are marching on towards 24,000 signatures, so if you can share the link among your networks and lets force this Government to implement a system of Civilian Oversight. The link is easy to copy and paste in an email, text message, or as a post on social media:
