POLICE IN QUEENSLAND HATE AIRING THEIR DIRTY LINEN IN PUBLIC!!

FOLKS - BEFORE ANYONE SAYS ANYTHING - YES THIS ARTICLE IS OLD ..... BUT HIGHLY RELEVANT TO THE POINT ABOUT TO BE MADE. Here is a quote from the article which demonstrates very clearly the lack of transparency and WHY we require civilian oversight into policing in Queensland:

"Police confirmed 12 officers and staff were stood down and 15 suspended this year over serious allegations including drug use, stealing and assault, but refused to confirm how many were sacked or faced disciplinary action, according to The Courier-Mail"

THIS is why we need civilian oversight into policing in Queensland - without transparent disclosure, how can the public have ANY confidence in the Queensland Police Service. FOLKS - the rule of law principles involve that justice not only NEEDS TO BE DONE, BUT NEEDS TO BE SEEN TO BE DONE!

A system of Civilian Oversight will take care of that.

I know we have now reached 15,000 signatures, but I am going to ask each and EVERY one of you supporters to post the petition link on Facebook and Twitter, get your networks to sign, get your friends and family to sign, and lets really get a very strong and clear message sent to the Government and Senior Police that it is NOT OK to allow police to get away with the lack of accountability that currently exists in Queensland.
