Queens Community Board 7’s current engagement in a highly unusual motion to dismiss a Board Member in an overtly political move is just the latest chapter in a history of corruption and abuse from this local governing body. John Choe, Executive Director at the Greater Flushing Chamber of Commerce, a longtime civic activist, and candidate for City Council, is being forced into removal proceedings just 8 days before Primary Election Day. Choe has such an exemplary record of public service and honesty that the accusations against him are either extraordinarily minor or obviously false. The most substantive accusation is that he is frequently at odds with the Board’s leadership.
