Updates and Shadow Minister Submission

Thanks for your support so far with the QLD hydrocarbon refrigerant petition! I have some updates for you!
There have been some interesting updates in recent weeks.
• Grosvenor Engineering Group (Grosvenor) is the first major technical service company in Australia to introduce a dedicated natural refrigerant technology service for HVACR systems. Everywhere but QLD of course! Read more and discuss: https://www.climatecontrolnews.com.au/air-conditioning/new-natural-refrigerant-service
• Opinion: Mario Balen (Hychill) on national licensing: https://www.hvacrnews.com.au/features/opinion-mario-balen-on-national-licensing/
My opinion is that the licensing should be in a similar manner to the way electrical licensing is currently managed around Australia - managed at a state level and by WorkSafe. ARCTick are mainly there just for the purpose of dealing with synthetic refrigerants. Read the article and discuss there.
• According to an email I received from the Petroleum & Gas Inspectorate (A division of the DNRME), the Department of Natural Resources Mines and Energy (DNRME) appear to have changed their name to Resources Safety & Health Queensland (RSHQ). Same stuff, different packaging. The problem still exists.
• I made a submission to the Shadow Minister for RSHQ yesterday (2nd July, 2020). He phoned me afterwards and was happy to have received my submission and commented about the amount of detail that went into it. I advised him to pass it on to his own engineers and the LNP team as part of the election campaign (cost of living). I spoke to him a few months ago before compiling this information together. He told me the ban didn't make any sense, especially with the Pioneer branded air conditioners. He wanted any material I had on the matter, and was inclined to lift the ban if LNP win the QLD state election on October 31.
What happens if the ban isn't lifted after the state election?
One of the commonly asked questions, and rightfully so. I'll be taking a leaf out of those in Western Australia - the first state to lift the ban years ago. Take the DNRME / RSHQ to the High Court regardless of who wins the election. It only took a few mentions of High Court action over there to have the ban lifted!
I'll keep you posted with key updates as they come!
