Hello everyone,

Just to remind you all that I am sincerely grateful for all your prayers and support in signing our petition and that we are still steadily growing in numbers every day.

Please be assured that I am still very hopeful and confident that we will all succeed in having Qantas Captain Kevin Sullivan (Ret.), First Officer Peter Lipsett and Second Officer Ross Hayes officially recognised as National Heroes by the Australian Government for their Heroism soon.

With regards to Qantas Group's involvement in all of this at this stage is still pretty much up in the air as I have yet to receive a direct response from Qantas CEO Mr. Alan Joyce. But I do have something close to that, and that is a response below dated 19/10/2018 addressed to me from Qantas Head of Corporate Affairs Mr. Andrew McGinnes trying to explain on behalf of Mr. Alan Joyce that their (Qantas) interpretation of the widespread acknowledgement already out there in the public domain as being deemed sufficient enough for our heroes but which did not actually come from them but merely just following along wirh what was already being said by leading transport investigative journalist Matthew O'Sullivan who covered the story on the QF72 in the Good Weekend (Australia).

You be the Judge....

subject: RE: Qantas Flight 72 Incident - 7/10/2008

Dear Fuzzy

I head up Corporate Affairs for Qantas and your email to Alan has come to me. Hopefully, I can help clarify our position on a few things for you.

"Firstly, we’re mindful of the recent anniversary of QF72 and there is no doubt that there is plenty of admiration for the way the crew handled what was clearly an extremely difficult and serious event. I noted that the Good Weekend (in Australia) recently ran a cover story on QF72, featuring Capt Sullivan, which was very widely read. There was also a National Geographic program (‘Mayday’) that screened in several countries recently, which I believe you appeared in. So, there is certainly a lot on the public record about this incident and how well it was managed by those on board."

I hope this helps clarify our position and gives you some reassurance.

 Kind regards

Andrew
