Two of the war heroines on our petition, Odette Hallowes and Violette Szabo, have local connections to Somerset and Herefordshire,

Odette's Tearoom have been leading our Somerset campaign and local press has covered and will cover our petition. Odette lived in the area before the war. A local community is already being planned towards the end of November to remember the bravery of Odette Hallowes.

The Violette Szabo Museum are leading the Hereford campaign and the museum is of course based in the home of Violette's aunt and uncle. Tomorrow we have a whole day of interviews with local radio stations and the BBC and we will be joined by some members of the Royal British Legion. Finally, we have the support of the Royal British Legion's Women's Section. As we are all volunteering at the moment to help with the Poppy Appeal, we will post some thoughts from the Women's Section after Remembrance Day. They are experts on the WWII war effort and the important role that women played.
