Petition updatePut Vicious Cat Killer Robert Farmer AwayJudge Chatman sentenced Robert Farmer to 16 YEARS.
Stop Animal Murderer Robert Farmer of San Jose
Jul 14, 2017
Dear Friends,
Finally, today after almost two years and 15 hearings we got a justice for our babies!!!
Today was very long and emotionally exhausting day. After 5 emotional victims statements, Judge Chatmen sentenced Robert Farmer to 16 YEARS behind bars but with credit for good behavior since his arrest, he is set to spend 13 years behind bars unless he violates rules or commits any crimes while in custody. Also, he Judge rejected the prosecution’s request that Robert Farmer to be register as a sex offender. Unfortunately without the sex registration requirement, he will serve his sentence in county jail, not prison, under a state program to reduce prison overcrowding.
After Farmer is released in 2030, he will be on “mandatory supervision,” a strict form of probation, for three years. Under the conditions set by Chatman, he will not be allowed to own, care for or live with an animal for 10 years. He also must undergo psychological treatment, including taking any psychotropic drugs that are prescribed, as well as stay 100 yards away from the Cambrian Park area; specifically zip code 95124. Other conditions include mandatory drug testing.
We were pleased with Judge Chatman because she took her time to list every cat by name, when she announced her decision from Angel, Gogo, Rayden, Thumper, Jupiter, Traveler, Babe, Ichigo , Tiger.and Orange Toby Doe to "Does”11 through 21.
Chatman noted that Farmer preyed on elderly, trusting cats who were beloved by many in the Cambrian Park neighborhood. “He likes to hurt living things,” Chatman said. “We need to make sure he doesn’t do that for as long as possible.”
We can't thank you enough for all your help and support, either by attending court or via electronic communication. You have shown that our pets are not things but loving family members who have feelings and have a soul and they deserve justice.
On their behalf, we want to thank you for being the voices for our voiceless animals.
With much Gratitude and Respect!
