The visit of Britain’s Prince Charles invokes colonial flag rules that force the Canadian flag from its rightful position of honour, replacing it with his personal banner. That is an egregious DIShonour for our flag and the nation it symbolizes.

No flag of any person should be permitted to trump the Maple Leaf, and certainly not by official decree. It’s time to update the rule, and ensure the Canadian flag takes first place at all times in its own country. The flags of 30 British royals and viceroys can certainly fly, but should never force the Maple Leaf to surrender.
