Chorlton landmark, Mauldeth House is owned by London-based billionaire property developers Metropolitan Properties Ltd. It has been empty and decaying for years, with no plans for development or re-use. It's time for Metropolitan to take action. Do something useful with the building or sell it to someone who will.

We need homes and services here, not ugly derelict buildings that are a magnet for squatters and kids bent on mischief at terrible risk to themselves and others. It is a blight on our neighbourhood.

In recent weeks Mauldeth House has been broken into many times with kids climbing up the walls, getting in through broken windows and finding a way to the seventh floor chucking stuff on passers by/passing cars. It’s only a matter of time until someone is seriously hurt.

We call on Metropolitan Properties Limited to engage seriously with Manchester City Council, create a plan for this site and to bring this charade to an end.
