Dear EBRPSS Supporters,

We have waited eight long months for the School Board to review Dr. Narcisse’s contract. Member Mike Gaudet of District 7 put Narcisse’s contract on the agenda at 2PM today.  The contract will be discussed at this week’s School Board meeting on Thursday. The meeting starts at 5PM and is located at 1050 S. Foster Drive, Baton Rouge, LA 70806.  This meeting would be a great opportunity for some of you to speak about the ongoing problems created by Dr. Narcisse. Several of you have quit the school system due to his policies. Please speak out.

Here are the emails of the new School Board members. Please let them know why you signed the petition, protested, and still think our children and faculty deserve better.

District 4:  Shashonne Stewart— SStewart4@ebrschools.org

District 9:  Patrick Martin— PMartin9@ebrschools.org

A short note is all that is needed. Identify yourself (a parent of public school children, a community member and voter). State the you read that Dr. Narcisse’s contract is under review. Be clear about what you want to happen and why. Here are a few examples.

Dear Members of the EBRPSS School Board,

I am a parent of three children who attend our public schools. I read that Dr. Narcisse’s contract is on the agenda for this week. I am concerned about how his policies have impacted my children’s daily lives. My youngest is in the SPED program and has not had a permanent teacher all year. My other children have buses that do not consistently show up. Dr. Narcisse’s budget submitted last July cut monies from both these departments. I would like to see him fired immediately. There are enough cabinet members to fill his role.

Sincerely,

Stressed  Mom

Dear Members of the School Board,

I am a high school student who has been forced to take a dual enrollment course for which I was not prepared plus seven other classes. The DE teacher is someone from BRCC whom we only see on zoom.  I am exhausted and my grades in all my other classes have dropped. Please help.

Sincerely,

Desperate Student

Dear Members of the School Board,

I am an active community member who wants you to take action to improve morale in our public schools. Some of the recent PR has been really nice, and I see that there are a lot of partnerships with businesses in the community who want a workforce. But what about the basic needs of our youngest community members? If children are put on “pathways” at a young age, they simply miss out on childhood and all the wonder of discovering who they are. Can we go bak to basics? Can you increase recess time and hire a superintendent who understands children? It is time to find someone else.

Kindest regards,

BR Proud Citizen

Let’s make 2023 a great year for our schools.

Mary
