We all know WHO is responsible for our ongoing crisis in EBR: the School Board and the Superintendent. Our petition request has been ignored. Please send emails to the School Board explaining your reasons for stating that Narcisse is the wrong superintendent for our district. Tonight's marathon school board meeting will provide more reasons.
If you want to know plans for your school's budget and staff, go to BoardDocs EBRPSS. Once there, look on the right hand side for tonight's Public Hearing. Click on it. Scroll to Agenda, click, Open the General Fund : Budget document; this will take a few minutes to down load. Scroll to page 102. This is where the information on individual school is to be found.
Pathways to Bright Futures, the so-called mandatory dual enrollment program, is listed on items 2 and 22; however, there is no supporting data for the PBF budget at all.
If you try to take a closer look at details concerning the Comprehensive Staffing Model, you will find that you must request access to those documents. Topics include why academic deans are being cut, the job description of school security officers (these are not trained police), as well as descriptions of literacy and math coaches at each school.
In item 21, Narcisse backtracks on his denial in February of stipends to those on maternity leave. He had excluded parents who took time off to care for newborns from receiving the mere $1,200 that should be given to ALL faculty and staff who took us through the pandemic. A 2OnYourSide story forced the issue. Keep in mind how expensive baby formula is nowadays.
I am curious to know how 100 million in federal relief dollars have been spent. There are countless documents so I may have missed the finer details.
