We just hit 5,000 signatures. Wow! Thanks so so much to every single one of you who have signed. I hope future generations will study this.
In just one week, this has gone from a design project to a massive movement to put our misunderstood and overlooked war hero pigeon on our banknotes and most importantly change the perception of the birds we see every day. It has started an incredible conversation for these birds and there's lots more to come!
The next goal is simple: The Bank of England is currently drawing up the official shortlist of UK wildlife to go to the national public vote this summer. Pigeons MUST be on that list. Follow the mission on my Instagram.
The Bank of England has appointed an expert panel to decide the shortlist. These are the people we need to convince:
Katy Bell – Ulster Wildlife
Nadeem Perera – Wildlife presenter
Gordon Buchanan MBE – Wildlife filmmaker
Miranda Krestovnikoff – Wildlife presenter
Steve Ormerod – Cardiff University
Dawn Scott – Nottingham Trent University
We are getting all the right attention! Share this update now and let’s show the wildlife experts that the public has already chosen our champion. https://www.change.org/PigeonOnThe20
Even the RSPCA is calling for "under-appreciated" wildlife to be featured. We are actually making this happen. Imagine the scenes when you reach for your wallet and a pigeon is staring back at you.
Let’s get our national treasure on the banknote people! 🇬🇧
