We are petitioning the city of Nashville, TN to put a 4 Way Stop sign on the corners of Oakwood Ave. and Slaydon Dr. 

On Tuesday of Dec. 6th Cierra Burrage was struck down walking home from the bus stop. The crime is unsolved and is declared a hit and run. On Sunday Dec. 11th we held a candlelight vigil and balloon release. We also stood on the corner holding signs for answers. Cars were speeding by so fast cars were shaking.

This is becoming an issue. The dangers of speeding in an area like this where elderly people reside, but also children and other people who simply go to work and back home by bus, is astronomical. The fear is that one of these kids walking home from the bus stop is struck down in the same manner. Or a pedestrian walking home is struck down also and left. There is a blind curve that makes it way too easy for another death and hit and run. It’s too easy to make it a pattern and it’s best to stop the issue at the head. Rather than wait until another casualty to jump into action. 

We ask that you sign this petition to bring a solution to a issue before it becomes too big to fix. A stop sign is really just the beginning. More police presence on such a long dead end street is needed also if I’m honest.
