Kaleb Lane was a 13 year old boy who had a bright beautiful future ahead of him. March 16, 2023 Kaleb was taken from us so abruptly. Kaleb had a zest for life, he loved to impress his friends and would do just about anything for someone in need. Joshua Garcia saw Kalebs eagerness to be one of the boys then started to take advantage him. “Crash dummy” this was the horrible nick name Joshua, his twin brother, and boy named Jesus had given to Kaleb. 
They put Kaleb on numerous missions of criminal activity and Kaleb wanting to fit in became the victim to being bullied on a regular basis.
The day of Kalebs murder, Kaleb had snap chatted a friend of his and told him Joshua refused to bring Kaleb home and held him against his will. They drove right passed Kalebs house and still refused to bring him home.
If you knew Kaleb you also know how particular he was about his hair. Kaleb never let anyone cut his hair but a few select barbers. The day Joshua had pulled the trigger on a semi automatic pistol which killed Kaleb almost instantly it was brought to our attention that kalebs hair had been cut and not by a chosen barber. 
Joshua is still claiming this to be an accident and is requesting he only get a maximum of 18 month in a juvenile detention center for murdering Kaleb. Joshua’s mother has contacted Kalebs mother boasting about her son only getting 18 months maximum and showing not one bit of remorse.  Name calling and posting disrespectful posts about Kalebs death. Kalebs family never gets to see him ever again. They have to live with the short 13 years that were given to Kaleb. Joshua gets to come home.
So today we are seeking Justice. Justice for Kaleb and his family. We are pushing Joshua Garcia receive the maximum sentence for murder in the second degree. Kansas statute describes second-degree murder as the killing of a human being committed intentionally or unintentionally but recklessly under circumstances manifesting extreme indifference to the value of human life.
