There has been an amazing response! We really appreciate your signatures and shares. The following email has been put together to send to all local MPs. Its just a case of copying and pasting the below into an email - sent directly to your MP. We figure that it would be harder to ignore over 30,000 emails!
To The house of Commons;
Petition of 'Suitable changing facilities for people with hidden disabilities in all public settings' declares that there is a lack of changing facilities for those with hidden disabilities, larger than the 15kg changing table commonly provided.
The petitioners therefore urge the House of Commons to make it mandatory for not just all future but existing public settings to provide suitable changing facilities to ensure the vulnerable are not being made to lie on a dirty floor to cater to their hygiene needs.
There are over 10 million people in the UK with a limiting long-term illness, impairment or disability. Sanitation is declared a universal human right, with one of the 5 pillar criteria being that it should be accessible for all. At present this does not include those that are unable to use a toilet. Whilst we are tricked into thinking a door with a blue badge means disability friendly, this actually only means physically disabled.
