The Issue

A Town Centre for the people, and by the people of Billingham

After the announcement of £20million Government levelling up funding; £6 million previously from the Tees Valley Mayor and Combined Authority, this petition requests that Stockton Borough Council carry out meaningful and open public consultation with the residents of Billingham for them to decide the future of their town centre, and to include regular updates for residents and not ‘behind closed door meetings or briefings’.

Including (but not limited to) any decisions regarding ownership or developments and for the Council to ensure it fully commits the £10 million previously committed and £5million committed as part of the levelling up bid, and any additional funding where necessary to ensure Billingham has a town centre that is for the residents, and by the residents.
