I have requested a meeting with the Honourable Mark Holland twice now. I am hoping to arrange a time to speak with him personally.  I will keep trying.

The reason there are now over 8500 supporters (and growing) for Madi’s Law is because we have a huge problem that needs to be addressed by the Canadian government. How many lives have to be harmed or taken before the government steps in?

Canadians deserve this positive change. A patient seeking help for a mental health reason is of the most vulnerable. They deserve a caregiver notified for support to ensure the first time they’re prescribed a psychotropic drug they will be safe. It shouldn’t cost them their lives. Most patients have multiple attempts with different types of psychotropic drugs before they find the right one. 

Thank you for supporting Madi’s Law. From a Mother who lost a daughter in this way it means a lot!

My name is ____________ and I am emailing in support of the House of Commons petition number 441-01652 also known as Madi’s Law. I believe that a psychotropic drugs safety waiver is urgently needed in Canada to prevent harm and save lives. I believe 

A mandatory psychotropic drugs safety waiver should be signed when a patient in Canada is given a psychotropic drug they have never taken before;

These drugs are powerful and mind-altering;

There is no scientific way of knowing how a patient will respond; and

A safety waiver would ensure that at least one caregiver is notified so they can help monitor the patient for adverse reactions such as suicidal ideation until such a time that it's deemed safe for the patient to take the drug

Many have been harmed or died. Please prevent deaths like Madisyn Solomon’s and legislate the use of a psychotropic drugs safety waiver in Canada ASAP. Canadians deserve safer mental health practices. Thank You.
