In Ontario there is no mandatory law that states a psychiatrist has to report a patient's suspected harm to self or others. Here's what you'll find in a Google search.

I was baffled and shocked to know that there would be no accountability for the hospital/Doctors not informing us of the suicidal ideation caused by the drugs they gave Madisyn. When the word mandatory is not involved they don't have to do it. This is one example of the low standards of care we have in our existing health care system. 

This is why we need to get involved. The most vulnerable seek mental health care. If we can't trust a health care professional who can we trust? 

Madi's Law is a small common sense ask. It should have been in place a long time ago. How many lives could have been saved? Please continue to share.
