Hannah Archuleta was sent by Dr. Phil in 2019 to Turn-About-Ranch where she was sexually assaulted, experienced forced labor in below-freezing temperatures, and slept on a wooden plank with no pillow. She was taken directly from the Dr. Phil taping to the rural Utah ranch. Now, Hannah is suing Turn-About-Ranch for negligence, sexual assault, and emotional distress. She is represented by prominent women's rights attorney, Gloria Allred.
This lawsuit comes as Utah legislators are expected to give a final vote on SB 127, that greatly increases oversight and regulations of the industry. Hannah's case proves that these programs are STILL exercising cruel and unusual punishment and acts as another reason SB 127 must be enacted into law this session.
Thank you Gloria Allred for championing the voices of survivors and taking on this case. Hannah, you are so brave and we support you!
