This petition calls on the CEO of Fingal County Council to provide a site for and commence development of, a Cultural/Arts/Youth/Multifunctional Community Facility within the area of Donabate in the ownership of FCC given that:

·       This is FCC policy as far back as 2019 

·       ⁠This is an Objective in the current Donabate Local Area Plan:

Objective 6.12 Support the provision of a community/cultural/exhibition and performing Arts centre for Donabate- Portrane and encourage the development of multi-functional community buildings which are not used exclusively by any one group” 

·       ⁠31% of the population are under 19 years of age with no indoor youth centre 

·       Over 35 Arts, Youth and Cultural groups have no permanent home or suitable facilities.

·       the Local Area Plan provides for 4,000 houses which are on target to be delivered with the population of the peninsula to increase to a minimum of 20,000 by 2030 

This community facility is urgently required for our rapidly expanding community.  We, the undersigned, are concerned citizens who urge our County Council to act now to provide a site for and commence development of this much needed community facility.
